    The Director-General of Dammam Port reveals a new route for exported goods and a direct shipping line with China 


    The Director-General of King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam, Fahd bin Ahmed Al-Amer, confirmed that the port is witnessing many developments at various levels, including the expansion of the container terminal and the support area, as well as the opening of a new route to receive the exported products, and its celebration of a direct shipping line coming from China.

    This came during a meeting held by the Asharqia Chamber represented by the Logistics Committee on Monday, December 20, 2021, attended by the Chamber’s Vice President Badr bin Suleiman Al-Raziza and moderated by the Chairman of the Logistics Committee Rakan bin Abdulrahman Al-Otaishan. Within the limits of 225 square meters, as it will become an area of ​​2.5 square kilometers in preparation for it to accommodate 3 million containers by the year 2030, and this is not excluded, as we currently receive 1.8 million containers per year, and we can increase that with other equipment and other measures. Stressing that The port administration is open to all local and foreign experiences in the areas of development and expansion, especially in marine equipment contracts.

    He pointed out that the port, through the declaration platform, has developed an alternative plan aimed at business continuity, as there are numbers to contact in the event of any malfunction, and we have a staff that receives calls around the clock, and we also have a special service for large companies where a control room has been allocated to them, given the amount of work directed to it.

    He stressed that the development in the port continues, and if we compare the work to the past, we will find that the container procedures are completed within an hour or less if its papers are complete, and we believe that with the cooperation of everyone we will reach a better reality and other distinguished results.

    He praised the developments in all Saudi ports, including Ras Al-Khair Port and Jeddah Islamic Port, noting that the developments in both ports had no impact on the movement in King Abdulaziz Port, which recently celebrated the launch of a shipping line from China that connects directly to Jebel Ali Port in the State Sister Emirates, and King Abdulaziz Port, and if some countries prefer to deal with a specific port in the Kingdom, it is only for the volume of their trade and interests, and there is no problem in another port.
    He concluded by saying that the port and its employees are fully prepared to address any issue, problem, or proposal from the private sector at any time.​
